SBMI Academic Honesty Statement

The following text is what you will be asked to sign in the New Student Orientation course in Moodle/Canvas and some instructors may require you to sign this pledge by checking off a box in a quiz in their online courses.


I understand that the following forms of conduct are unacceptable and will not be tolerated in this course:

Cheating, plagiarizing, fabricating information or citations, facilitating acts of academic dishonesty by others, having unauthorized possession of examinations, submitting work of another person or work previously used without informing the instructor, or tampering with the academic work of other students. 

I have been informed that students who are found to be dishonest will receive academic sanctions, such as an “F” grade on the assignment, quiz, exam, and/or any other graded activity in the course.  They will also be reported to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for possible further disciplinary action.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand any unacceptable conduct listed in the UTH Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOOP) Policy 186 – Appendix A (Links to an external site.)would subject a student to disciplinary action.

I hereby certify on my honor that I will not engage in any of the unacceptable conduct listed in UTH Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOOP) Policy 186 – Appendix A.
